According to swnews4u.com, The Richland Police Department is making businesses and residents aware of counterfeit one-hundred-dollar bills moving through the area.
Richland Police Chief Lucas Clements said a local resident recently found several counterfeit one-hundred-dollar bills and turned them over to police.
Police are unaware of how many are in circulation.
Chief Clements says that the bills have a poor representation of Benjamin Franklin as well as pink and black markings on both the front and back of the bill.
He also said the counterfeit bills can be seen with a currency detector pen and by taking a closer look at the front and back of the bill.
In addition, the bills have identical serial numbers of LGQ 03229158 and are printed on distinctly thinner paper.
Police ask businesses and residents be on the look out and to turn in any suspected counterfeit bills.
