Despite outhitting the San Francisco Giants ten to eight, the Cincinnati Reds fall to the Giants 6-3 from Great American Ballpark. Logan Webb struck out four Reds hitters during his six innings of scoreless pitching for the Giants. Sonny Gray took the loss for Cincinnati after tossing five innings of three run baseball for the red legs. Tyler Naquin and Eugenio Suarez drilled back-to-back solo homers in the eighth inning to cut the Reds deficit from four to three. The Reds now fall a game below .500 at 19-20 on the season while the Giants improve to 25-16. Practice for the 105th Running of the Indianapolis 500 presented by Gainbridge starts today for all drivers in preparation for qualifications this weekend. The action starts at 10am ET with the veterans paving laps on the oval until noon. The following two hours on the track will be allocated to rookie orientation and veteran’s refresher before all drivers can take their turn on the track from 3pm ET until 6pm ET. Fans can purchase tickets online to attend practice all week before qualifications on Saturday and Sunday.
The Indiana Pacers have made it into the NBA Play-In Tournament as the 9th seed and will host the 10th seed Charlotte Hornets at Banker’s Life Fieldhouse tonight at 6:30pm ET. The Pacers lost the last matchup against the Hornets back in April giving Charlotte its second win over Indiana during the regular season. Injuries could be a big issue for the Pacers.
