Masks are now optional inside city owned buildings in Evansville.
Mayor Lloyd Winnecke has decided not to renew his executive order requiring masks in public buildings.
The move he says keeps in line with the new recommendations from the Centers for Disease Control that say fully vaccinated individuals don’t have to wear masks at all.
The Civic Center and Ford Center in Evansville are a couple of examples of where masks are optional now.
Hospitals and METS buses will still be requiring masks.
