A 15-year-old was taken into custody after a police chase in Washington over the weekend.
Around 12:45 AM Saturday morning, the Washington Police Department’s night shift received a report of an abandoned trailer with mowing equipment at the intersection of NW 16th Street and McCormick Avenue.
Officers observed the trailer had struck the guide wire on a utility pole and had flipped over.
After further investigation, the owner was located and confirmed the trailer had been stolen.
Police later discovered the vehicle that the trailer had been attached to was also stolen.
While assisting with the investigation, a Daviess County Sheriff’s Office Deputy located the stolen vehicle and initiated a traffic stop.
The driver then sped off leading to a pursuit which ended when the driver attempted to maneuver at a high rate of speed, causing the vehicle to roll over.
A 15-year-old was taken into custody without further incident.
No injuries were reported.
