West segment of HWY 50 project nearing completion

Last night, the City Council introduced an ordinance allocation in the amount of $1,325,000 for the Highway 50 Project. Mayor Roads said the west segment of the project is nearing completion, but urges motorist using Old 50 to drive carefully.

The Mayor also said the Spring paving projects have been completed.

Mayor Rhoads also said the City was able to complete the paving of Jackson Street, which was left over from last years schedule.

After the  Council meeting, the Board of Works and Safety gave permission to Bill Dobson Ford to block off South Street from Meridian to SW Third, along with SW 1st and SW 2nd, from Main to the Railroad tracks, for Dobson’s Annual Customer Appreciation Car Show. The Car Show is set for Saturday, June 5th, from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.
