At last nights City Council meeting, the council agreed to a resolution authorizing the Mayor to apply for a Federal Transit Grant through INDOT. The grant will fund the City Transit Department.

Chuck Martindale, the City’s transportation advisor, also said it was time to replace the City’s buses. A 2008 model bus was replaced last year, and the City is looking at replacing the 2009 model bus with a 2021 model this year.

At the end of the meeting the Council continued discussion on the City’s noise ordinance. Mayor Rhoads reminded everyone that this ordinance would apply to the whole City, and not just one specific situation.

The City is looking at other cities to see how their ordinances work.
