The Denver Nuggets defeated the Indiana Pacers 113-103 Thursday night Bankers Life Fieldhouse in Indiana’s final game before the NBA’s All-Star break. After falling behind by 12 in the first half, the Pacers fought back to tie the game at 68. Denver jumped ahead with a 14-6 run late in the third quarter, and iced the game with a 12-0 run in the fourth quarter. Indiana was led by Myles Turner’s 22 points and 12 rebounds, while Domantas Sabonis had a triple-double with 10 points, rebounds and assists. The Pacers enter the break 16-19 and losers of five out of six.
Purdue and Indiana renew their rivalry on the hardwood Saturday afternoon at Mackey Arena in the regular season finale for both teams. The programs are headed in different directions, as the 23rd ranked Boilers have won four in a row, while the Hoosiers have collapsed down the stretch and lost four straight. Matt Painter’s team has won eight over their arch rivals, and Archie Miller has yet to notch a win over the Boilers in four seasons. The Boilers and Hoosiers tip off at 2 p.m. Saturday from West Lafayette.
The Big Ten announced that next week’s conference tournaments will have a limited number of fans in the stands. The women’s tournament at Bankers Life Fieldhouse from March 9th through March 13th will host up to twenty five hundred fans per game. The men’s event is scheduled for March 10th through the 14th, and can hold up to eight thousand fans at Lucas Oil Stadium. Tickets will be on sale through each of the Big Ten’s 14 schools.
