A Boonville woman is facing several charges after being stopped in Vanderburgh County. Around 6:30 PM Tuesday, one state trooper stopped a woman on a moped on South Kentucky Avenue for operating without lights. The driver was identified as 37-year-old Holly Hurt of Boonville. Hurt had a suspended ID card and expired plates on the moped. Police say she also displayed signs of impairment. During field sobriety tests, Hurt allegedly kicked and bit the state trooper. After the brief fight, Hurt was taken into custody without further incident. She was transported to a hospital for minor injuries and was then booked into the Vanderburgh County Jail. She is currently being held without bond. The trooper was treated at the hospital and was released.
