Willis J. Conrad, 86, of Otwell, IN passed away February 27, 2020. He was born to Herschel and Donetta Barry on February 13, 1935. He married Irma Elkins on November 24, 1979. Willis worked for the Indiana State Highway Department for many years. He loved to go fishing at the river for catfish. He loved hunting for rabbits and squirrels. Willis also loved to work on cars and antiques. He would be at his garage working on old tractors.
He is survived by his sons, Tony Wayne Conrad of Otwell, IN and William Neal (Ruth) Conrad of Georgia; daughters, Gail Lynn (Kevin) White of Washington, IN, Debbie Louise Conrad of Vincennes, IN; grandchildren, Tonia (Conrad) Ross, Michael Conrad, Jeremy Conrad, Candi Conrad, Andrew White, James Morley, Julianne Conrad, and Jacob Conrad. Sixteen great grandchildren and four great-great grandchildren (one due July 24, 2021); brother, Gary Barry of Vincennes, IN; and special friend, Esther Pancake of Otwell.
Preceding in death are his parents, Herschel and Donetta Barry; brothers, Herschel, Robert, and Ted Barry; wife, Irma Conrad; and grandson, William “BJ” Conrad.
Services will be held at 11 AM on Friday, March 5, at Harris Funeral Home in Petersburg with visitation from 9 AM until service time. Burial will take place at Otwell Cemetery. Masks are required for services. Harris Funeral Home is entrusted with care.
