The Washington Hatchets closed out the regular season on a three game winning streak as they topped Boonville on the road Saturday 57-28. The Hatchets are 8 and 11 and will face Sullivan Tuesday night in the opening round of the 3A Washington Sectional.
Barr Reeve wrapped up their regular season at home Saturday against Shakamak winning 69-39. Congratulations to Brycen Graber who now has the state’s record in most assists. Barr Reeve is 22 and 2 heading to North Daviess to face Washington Catholic in round one of the tournament Tuesday night.
Loogootee fell just short in their quest for back to back girls basketball state titles on Saturday losing to Pioneer 43-42. Pioneer scored the winning basket with six seconds left to go. Kylie VanHoy finished with 18 points, while Brooklyn Jones added 12. Loogootee ends another great season at 20-5.
