Charles E. “Chuck” Owens, 75, of Vincennes, passed away at 11:57 am Friday, February 25, 2021 at his residence surrounded by his family.
He was born November 25, 1945 in Vincennes, Indiana to James and Glendola (Biddle) Owens while being raised by Glendola and Robert Duckworth.
Chuck retired as a delivery driver from Prairie Farms Dairy in May 2008. Prior, he had also worked at RC Cola since high school and had several odd jobs over the years. He worked very hard to support his family while instilling the importance of hard work to his children.
Chuck was an avid NASCAR fan with Dale Earnhardt being his favorite driver. In his younger days he raced stock and drag cars. Also enjoyed watching professional, college and high school sports. He loved having his garage parties and everyone knew he had the coldest beer in town. Chuck was an active member of the Eagles, VFW and the FOP.
Surviving are his daughters Tracy Davis of Vincennes, Dawn Cardinal of Vincennes, Damon Owens of Vincennes, and Kim Eisenhut of Vincennes, whom he thought of as a daughter; two brothers Kenny Owens of Vincennes, and David Owens of Kentucky; his grandchildren Morgan Kitzman, Kaleigh Dirksen, Madison Rogers, Brittney Naylor, Mason Owens, Keyton Cardinal, Rhett Cardinal, and Avery Davis; his great grandchildren Diesel Rogers, Ruxin Rogers, Sawyer Kitzman, Breckin Naylor, Finn Dirksen, Drake Cardinal, Tarzan Kitzman, Ripken Rogers, and Baby Naylor Owens on the way. Preceded in death by his parents, his sister Mitzi McCrary and brother Jim Owens.
