Brycen Graber of Barr-Reeve has committed to play next season for Grace College. Graber is averaging 7 ppg, 8.0 apg, and 3 rebounds per game this season for the 1A top ranked Vikings. Congratulations Brycen!
The Indiana Hoosiers took control with a 18-2 run in the second half and beat Minnesota 82-72 Wednesday night at Assembly Hall. Trayce Jackson-Davis led the Hoosiers with 20 points and 10 rebounds. Jerome Hunter, Al Durham and Armaan Franklin combined for 43 points and hit 7-of-7 3-point attempts, and Hunter’s 16 points set a new career-high. The win was a needed one for the Hoosiers’ NCAA Tournament hopes, as IU improved to 12-9 overall and 7-7 in the Big Ten. Indiana has won three out of four and hosts Michigan State Saturday afternoon.
Domantas Sabonis and Malcolm Brogdon led the Indiana Pacers to a 134-128 overtime win over the Minnesota Timberwolves Wednesday night. Sabonis had a career-high 36 points to go with 17 rebounds and 10 assists as the Blue and Gold avoided a loss to the NBA’s worst team.
The Chicago Cubs announced they signed pitcher Jake Arrieta to a one-year deal with a mutual option for 2022. The 34-year-old fan favorite returns to the North Side, where he pitched from 2013 through 2017. In his first stint with the Cubs, Arrieta won the 2015 National League Cy Young Award winner and was an All-Star in 2016 as he helped lead the Cubs to their first World Series title in 108 years. He spent the last three seasons with the Philadelphia Phillies, and was 4-4 with a 5.08 ERA last season in nine starts.
