Washington firefighters responded to structure a fire early Tuesday morning. The family was able to safely exit as fire crews arrived, however, the family dog was missing. Crews made a fast entry and were able to quickly knock-down the fire and limit significant damage to the front rooms. During the secondary search, fire crews were able to locate the dog and return it to the family. No injuries were reported. The cause of the fire is currently under investigation. Washington Township Fire crews were assisted by the Montgomery Volunteer Fire Department, Daviess Community Hospital EMS, Daviess County Sheriff’s office, and Boyd & Sons Machinery .
