A Gibson County man charged with false informing has been sentenced. Joshua Thomas was arrested last summer along with Maria Hopper and Hannah Potts after participating in a kidnapping hoax. Thomas has plead guilty and has been sentenced to 270 days probation. Hopper plead guilty last fall and was sentenced to probation and community service.
Last summer all three were charged with false informing after 23-year-old Hannah Potts faked her kidnapping. She was assisted by Hopper and Thomas. She said the experience was for a “writing project.” Potts was due in court today, but the hearing has been pushed back to March 8th.
