Washington Community Schools announced that Kindergarten Pre-Registration will be held during the week of March 2nd – 5th. Any student who will be at least five years of age on or before August 1, 2021 is eligible to attend kindergarten. Please bring your child’s birth certificate, immunization record and proof of address where you live and ID to the office of the elementary school located in the school district where you live.
Indiana law requires children entering school to have five (5) DTaP.; four (4) polio; two (2) MMR; and three (3) doses of hepatitis B vaccine; and two (2) doses of hepatitis A. All students entering Kindergarten or 1st grade must have two (2) chickenpox shots or a history of the disease documented by a health care provider. The school nurse will copy and check immunization records as part of the kindergarten registration. All immunizations must be complete by the first day of school. It is very important that all students who will be attending Kindergarten in the 2021-2022 school year take part in Pre-Registration. The schools need accurate enrollment data in order to plan for the fall. The elementary schools will be accepting Pre-registration information over a four-day period, March 2nd to March 5th, from 8:30 AM until 3 PM daily.
