Information surrounding an FBI investigation of the Vincennes Police Department has become available. Federal Agents began investigating the former Police Department’s administration in 2019 after $32,000 from the police department’s vault was missing. The State Board of Accounts determined that former Police Chief, Dusty Luking, allegedly misappropriated funds to the department from the school corporation for an SRO Officer. They State Board of Accounts said internal controls and procedures likely attributed to the money being taken as well. The money was never found. The current police chief, Bob Dunham, said his department is ran differently and that cameras and a computer tracking system have been installed. No charges have been filed.
