From the Daviess County Health Department…
“The Daviess County Health Department will be receiving Moderna COVID-19 Vaccine for distribution to Phase 1A and 1B individuals beginning Monday, January 11th. This includes any Hoosier age 80 and older, first responders (fire, law enforcement, emergency medical services, reservists and volunteers) who have in-person contact with the public, and licensed and unlicensed healthcare workers who have in-person contact with patients or infectious material in any healthcare setting. Phase 1A and 1B individuals are now eligible to schedule a vaccination appointment. The timeline for additional phases of vaccine administration is yet to be determined.
Visit ourshot.in.gov to schedule an appointment. If you have difficulty registering online or if you know someone eligible to get vaccinated who doesn’t have access to a computer, please dial 211 from any phone for assistance or to register.
Pre-registration will allow you to get in and out of your appointment quickly. The clinic will be at the Daviess County Health Department, 300 E Hefron Street in Washington. You will see entrance signs at the parking lot entrance on 4th street, which is the east side of the new Government center.
Everyone will need to remain in their car until their scheduled appointment time. Health Department staff will be present upon your arrival and will give you further instruction before leaving your car. If you have any concerns regarding leaving your vehicle, notify the staff and accommodations will be made.
Only the person scheduled for the appointment will be allowed to enter the building unless you have special needs or are a direct caregiver. We must maintain social distancing and masks are required.
After receiving your vaccination, you will return to your vehicle and wait 15 minutes or longer as instructed by the staff. While in your car if you become sick, or feel you need assistance, please honk your horn.
We will only be allocated a limited number of vaccines weekly. The online appointment scheduling is in direct correlation with the number of vaccines that are available. We will not be able to accept walk-ins, you must have an appointment to be vaccinated. For any additional information visit ourshot.in.gov.”
