Police in Evansville have a few new ways to detect drugs. The Indiana Criminal Justice Institute is providing both the Vanderburgh County Sheriff’s Office and the Evansville Police Department with new drug detection kits. The kits specialize in confirming whether or not the drugs are marijuana, opioids, cocaine, or any one of several other drugs on the spot. The institute says the kit would save investigators a trip to the state crime lab.
