The Cincinnati Bengals pulled off the major upset win last night at home in Monday Night Football over the Steelers 27-17. The Bengals are now 3-10-1.
Army will get a bowl game after all. Army was set to face Tennessee in the Liberty Bowl but the Vols had to back out due to numerous positive Covid-19 tests. It was announced late yesterday, that West Virginia will step in for the game on New Year’s Eve.
Butler freshman JaKobe Coles missed a game-tying 3-pointer at the buzzer and Southern Illinois upended the Bulldogs 76-73 Monday night at Hinkle Fieldhouse. The loss snapped a 59-game non-conference home winning streak for Butler, which was the longest in the country.
Purdue is in Iowa City to take on the fourth ranked Hawkeyes Tuesday night. The Boilermakers are 6-2 and are coming off wins last week over Ohio State and Notre Dame. Iowa is 6-1 and lost to top-ranked Gonzaga Saturday.
The ACC announced that tonight’s scheduled game between Notre Dame and Syracuse has been postponed due to COVID-19 contact tracing within the Syracuse program. Notre Dame quickly added a non-conference game with Bellarmine Wednesday afternoon. The Fighting Irish are 2-4 and are coming off a loss to Purdue in the Crossroads Classic. The conference did not announce a rescheduled date for the only matchup between the Fighting Irish and the Orange this season.
