An Evansville man is accused of beating and trying to choke a man with Down’s Syndrome. Shawn Mason was arrested Thursday evening for domestic battery and strangulation. Police say he beat and tried to choke a nonverbal 23-year-old man who has Down’s Syndrome. Mason is being held in the Vanderburgh Co. Jail without bond.
