The Daviess County Health Department was notified yesterday that Daviess County would be moving into the red status today on the ISDH map. Students will remain in classroom for right now and sports practices are still on as scheduled. Games will continue as scheduled, however the Red Status does drop the number of those who can attend games in person. So far, the only change will be the number of fans that will be able to attend games.
Pike County is also now under the “red” designation. The Pike County Health Department released a list of guidelines that can be found on the WAMW Facebook page and website. It is strongly encouraged that social gatherings be cancelled or postponed. If a social gathering of over 25 cannot be cancelled or postponed, the host of the gathering must submit a safety plan to the local health department and receive approval before proceeding. All social gatherings are limited to 25 people. Senior Center activities must be cancelled or suspended. Sporting events are still on, but are limited to participants, support personnel, and parents. The Health Department stressed the importance of staying home if your are sick and following all safety guidelines.
