According to Fox 59, The House of Representatives passed a bill on Friday that would decriminalize marijuana, ending a federal ban. The Marijuana Opportunity Reinvestment and Expungement Act would remove cannabis from the list of scheduled substances and eliminate criminal action for people who deal or are found in possession of the substance. The bill would also establish a trust fund to support programs and services for those affected by the war on drugs. The bill passed 228-164 and will now move onto the Republican-controlled Senate. It is not expected to advance.
