Mr. Gordon Cornelius, 87 of Washington, passed away on Wednesday, December 2, 2020 while at Hillside Manor.
Gordon was born in Plainville, IN on May 6, 1933 to the late Hershel and Helen (Edwards) Cornelius.
Gordon was employed by McCord’s for 20 years, later working at GM in Indianapolis, and retiring from Walmart in 1995. Gordon farmed watermelons for many years and enjoyed listening to Washington High School sports, and college basketball.
Gordon is survived by; his loving children, Cindy Meade (Terry), son, Kenneth Cornelius (Linda); a brother, Gerry Cornelius; 5 grandsons; 5 great-grandsons; and 5 great-granddaughters; and several nieces and nephews; companion, Christina Hembree.
He was preceded by; his wife, Roberta (King) Cornelius; son, Mark Cornelius; 4 sisters; and 2 brothers.
Services will be held on Saturday, at Gill Funeral Home, but will be private due to the ongoing threat of (Covid-19). Floral arrangements may be delivered Friday or Saturday before 10:00 A.M.
