Many local workers for White Stallion Coal Company are left without a job right before Christmas. The company announced they would be shutting down their operation at the close of business yesterday. White Stallion is owned by former Black Beauty owner Steve Chancellor who had purchased Solar Sources and Vigo Mines with plans to add one in Daviess County. The company shuttered operations at 5pm yesterday. White Stallion had shut down the Liberty Mine operation in Boonville back in April. Around 80 employees were affected at that time. Hundreds of other jobs will now be affected with this latest announcement yesterday. We will continue to follow this story at WAMW.
