Washington High School baseball and football stand out Seth Holtsclaw has made his college choice. Seth announced yesterday he will be playing both baseball and football at Wabash College next year. Holtsclaw was selected to the 2020 PAC all conference as a linebacker, and was a member of the 2019 Big 8 All Conference baseball team where he led the conference in home runs and RBI’s. Wabash is the reigning NCAC baseball and football conference champions, and the Little Giants are currently 5th all time in Division II football wins. Congratulations and best wishes Seth!
Washington announced yesterday that the WHS vs Barr Reeve boys basketball game will be made up on Tuesday, January 12th. The Barr Reeve vs Orleans boys game for this Saturday has been postponed. The Washington vs Loogootee girls basketball game will now be played on Saturday afternoon December 12th and that will be the first game back for Coach Gretchen Miles and the Lady Hatchets. The Barr Reeve girls will finally get to open their season on Thursday December 10th when they host North Daviess. The Barr Reeve vs Wood Memorial girls game has been postponed to January 25th.
The Vincennes Lincoln girls opened their season with a road win at Evansville Reitz 51-40. Tonight the Lady Alices travel to Gibson Southern.

The Baltimore Ravens vs Steelers game has been postponed again. The two teams will now play Wednesday at 3:40pm due to a schedule conflict with NBC, the station broadcasting the game. The match up has now become the first NFL game of the season to be postponed three times.
The North Carolina Tar Heels started very slow but came on strong and topped UNLV at the Maui Invitational in Asheville 78-51. In other match ups in round one, the Indiana Hoosiers cruised to a big win over Providence 79-58. Texas edged out Davidson 78-76. And Stanford had no trouble with Alabama 82-64. The tournament continues today with Texas vs Indiana tipping off at 1:30pm. North Carolina plays Stanford in game two. Then it’s Davidson against Providence, and UNLV takes on Alabama.
The Indiana Hoosiers Football team got some major bad news yesterday as they learned their starting quarterback Michael Penix Jr is out for the rest of the season with a.torn ACL. Coach Tom Allen confirmed the injury yesterday. Penix suffered the ACL tear after scrambling out of bounds in the Hoosiers win against Maryland on Saturday. The 12th ranked Hoosiers won the game 27-11 and are now 5-1 on the season. Jack Tuttle will get the start this week when the IU visit number 16 Wisconsin.
