The Tropicana Evansville casino is being sold by Caesar’s Entertainment. The move is what many experts predicted after a merger earlier this year between Eldorado Resorts and Caesar’s Entertainment. Caesar’s plans to sell the Tropicana Casino to Twin Rivers Worldwide Holdings based in Rhode Island. Twin Rivers will acquire the casino’s assets, but the land the casino sits on is being sold to Gaming and Leisure Properties. The plan after that is for Twin Rivers to lease the property from Gaming and Leisure. The sale is expected to close in 2021. It still needs approval from the Indiana Gaming Commission and federal regulators.
