
With two Councilmen absent, and one communicating via a phone connection, the Washington City Council meeting last night only took 25 minutes.
The True RX project on Washington’s Far East side got a boost when the Council unanimously passed a resolution declaring the area near the round-about to be an economic revitalization area. Mayor David Rhoads explains.
The Council also passed a resolution allowing City employees to carry two vacation or personal days into 2021 with the stipulation the days be used by March 1st. Mayor Rhoads said with the COVID situation many employees have not been able to take a vacation this year.
In other business the Council passed ordinances approving the final plat of Section 3 of the Deerfield Subdivision, and rezoning properties in the Daviess Drive area.
The Council also did some bookkeeping by beginning the process to establishing a pass-through account to receive money Daviess County is contributing to the Old U.S. 50 project. At the end of the meeting Mayor Rhoads said the U.S. 50 project is moving on schedule and gave this report.
In a rare occurrence, the Board of Public Works and Safety had only two items on their agenda and finished their meeting in less than two minutes.
