The Washington Lady Hatchet Basketball Hoops Hysteria Event scheduled for Saturday night at the Hatchet House has been cancelled.

The Chicago Bears entered “Monday Night Football” with one of the best records in the NFL, not to mention a first-place spot atop the NFC North. They leave prime time in a much different position. Despite every effort from a defense that literally scored more points than Matt Nagy’s offense in Los Angeles, the Bears had almost no answers for Sean McVay’s Rams to close Week 7, with Jared Goff, Darrell Henderson, Malcolm Brown and the rest of the home team cruising to a 24-10 victory to improve to 5-2 and raise all kinds of questions about Chicago’s place among NFC contenders.

The Los Angeles Dodgers will attempt to clinch their first World Series title since 1988 in tonight’s Game 6 against the Tampa Bay Rays.  The Rays look to force Game 7, while the Dodgers aim to end a 32-year drought with first pitch at 8:08 p.m. Eastern.
Purdue coach Jeff Brohm said Monday that he will return to the sidelines Saturday when the Boilermakers take on Illinois. The fourth year coach missed Saturday’s season-opening win over Iowa due to COVID-19, and had to watch from home. Brohm’s younger brother Brian took over as the play caller and acting head coach, and Jeff Brohm said he felt helpless and that it was not fun to watch from home. He said he expects to return to practice Wednesday
The NASCAR Cup Series race at Texas Motor Speedway was postponed until today at noon after not turning a wheel Monday. The second race of the third round of the playoffs was postponed Sunday after 52 laps due to persistent rain. Mist and rain continued yesterday, forcing NASCAR to postpone to today for the first time since 2011. Clint Bowyer will restart from the lead. Kevin Harvick entered the race as the points leader, and he will restart 36th after hitting the wall and suffering damage on the right side of his car.
