The Daviess County Sheriff’s Department is warning residents to be on alert for a new scam. There have been many calls where people are impersonating government or law enforcement agencies. The Sheriff’s Department stresses that these are scam calls. Some request personal information to verify, some are claiming there is a warrant for your arrest, and some are asking for money. The Sheriff’s Department reminds residents to never give out any personal information over the phone. No legit government or law enforcement agency will ever call and ask for any of your information. The numbers are coming from an 8-1-2 area code.
