The Daviess County Council met yesterday with a few items on the agenda to discuss. Steve Myers was present at the meeting on behalf of Bennington Levee. Steve was requesting $200,000 in funds from the county to make repairs to and “modernize” the Bennington Levee. He stated much of the structure is very and old and there is a need to replace the pumping station lines among several other things. The council approved the request.
DCH was not present at yesterdays meeting, but had informed the council they would like to refinance county backed bonds. The refinance would lower the rate, but keep the principal amount and payment the same. The council agreed that the refinance would take some pressure off of the liability of the county and that it would benefit both parties. The council approved the request.
The council also passed several appropriations and approved a salary ordinance amendment for the recorders office.
