The Washington Hatchet Volleyball team ends the regular season at 23 and 6 after competing at the Heritage Hills tournament on Saturday.  The Hatchets begin the sectional tournament Thursday night at Sullivan.  Remember you can follow Hatchet Volleyball in the sectional this week on Memories  107.9fm.

The Washington Catholic Lady Cardinal Soccer team grabbed the school’s first girls soccer sectional Saturday at South Knox with a 2 to 1 win over the host South Knox Spartans.  The Lady Cardinals will now play Trinity Lutheran in game two Saturday at Forest Park at noon.  The first game Oldenburg Academy vs Forest Park.  Good luck WC!
The Washington Hatchet boys soccer team lost a heart breaker in the championship of the 2A Gibson Southern Sectional 4 to 3.  The Hatchets fought hard against the unbeaten Titans.  Gibson Southern moves on to the Heritage Hills regional.
High School Football from Friday Night:
Washington fell at home to unbeaten West Washington 46 to 8.  The Hatchets wrap up the regular season Friday at Mount Vernon.
North Knox beat North Daviess 49 to 17.
Vincennes Lincoln lost to Evansville Memorial 21 to 6.
Jasper defeated Evansville North 23 to 16.
Pike Central fell to Forest Park 49 to 6.

The 2A number 1 Barr-Reeve Vikings went 3-1 in the Columbus East Tournament this past Saturday. In the first match the Vikings defeated Franklin 25-11, 25-19, then defeated Painfield 25-21, 25-21 then lost to 4A Columbus East 16-25, 25-11 and 13-15 but finished the day with a win over Avon 25-19, 26-24. After the weekend the Vikings record now stands at 28-3.

 This is the last regular season match for the season and now the Vikings will travel to Eastern on Thursday evening to take on the Southridge Raiders in the second night of sectional action.

Barr-Reeve Girls Cross Country team won the South Knox Sectional on Saturday edging 2nd place South Knox 46-48.  This was the 2nd time in a week that Barr-Reeve defeated the Spartans in close finishes. Leading Barr-Reeve was Makenna Pruett who finished in fourth place but was first for Barr-Reeve. Finishing in 3rd place was Princeton, 4th Pike Central and Gibson Southern finished in 5th place as the top 5 teams move on to the Pike Central Regional next Saturday.

On the Boys Cross Country at South Knox, South Knox was the winner, Vincennes Lincoln 2nd, Gibson Southern 3rd, Princeton 4th and Barr-Reeve 5th as the top five teams move on to the Regional next week at Pike Central.  South Knox had the 4 top finishers and Barr-Reeve’s top runner was Colton Stoll who finished in 6th place.
