Jesse Calvin Dyson, 86, of Otwell, passed away September 22, at his residence. He was born February 21, 1934 in Stendal, IN to Willard and Lucy (Nalley) Dyson. Jesse led a very adventurous life. He served in three different branches of the armed forces, the Army, Air Force, and the Marines. He was a member of the VFW and the American Legion.
Jesse is survived by his nieces and caregivers, Daisy Garrison and Linda Atkins; many nieces and nephews; and a step granddaughter. He is preceded in death by his wife, Lois Zimmerman Dyson; his step daughter, Billie Sollman; his parents; and eight brothers and sisters.
A graveside service with military honors will be held at 1 PM EST on Saturday, Sept. 26, at Burr-Oak Cemetery (Traylor Union Church) in Otwell, IN and visitation will be held from 11 AM to 12:30 PM at Harris Funeral Home in Petersburg, IN before service time. Pastor Dennis Patton will be officiating. O.D. Harris Funeral Home is entrusted with care.
