William “Bill” Pielemeier, age 87, passed away September 5, 2020 in Loogootee IN.
He was born February 16, 1933, to Herman and Emilie (Albaugh) Pielemeier and was the youngest of six children.
Bill graduated high school in Loogootee and served honorably in the United States Air Force for four years. While in the service and stationed at Hamilton Air Force Base in Hamilton, California, Bill met his soon to be wife, Jeanette Hansen, and they were married February 19, 1955. He returned to Loogootee with his family in 1969, and was employed at NSWC Crane, in the Small Arms Branch until he retired in 1994. He enjoyed retirement and kept busy working outside, helping on family projects and traveling. Bill was a lifelong member of the Loogootee United Methodist Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Herman and Emilie, and siblings, Carl Pielemeier, Bob Pielemeier, Helen Pielemeier and Hazel Pielemeier.
He is survived by his wife, Jeanette, sons Terry (Janet), and Alan (Cindy), and brother, Roy Pielemeier; Grandchildren, Casey Pielemeier (Sarah), Shelly Tackett (Jeremy), and Sherri Kessler (Nick) and several Great Grandchildren.
A private burial will be held at Goodwill Cemetery.
