The Barr-Reeve Tennis team won their match vs. Northeast Dubois 4-1 at Barr-Reeve tennis courts to go 5-0 on the season
The North Daviess Cougars nipped Bloomfield 3 to 2 to remain unbeaten on the season.  The match lasted over 3 hours last night.  North Daviess will take on Bedford Monday.
The Washington boys tennis team shut out Vincennes Rivet 5 to nothing yesterday.  The Hatchets are right back in action tonight against Loogootee at 4:15pm
The Washington Hatchet Boys Soccer team shut out Pike Central on the road last night 1 to nothing.
The Barr Reeve Middle School Varsity Soccer team grabbed a 4 to 1 win over Sullivan in their home opener.
Tonight, the Washington Lady Hatchet Soccer team will host Vincennes Rivet for Senior Night at the Sports Complex.  Catch live coverage beginning with Senior night at 5:30pm, kick off is set for 6pm on Memories 107.9fm.
The Indiana Pacers fired coach Nate McMillan Wednesday, just two weeks after announcing signing him to an extension. The firing comes off the heels of the Pacers being swept in the first round of the NBA playoffs by the Miami Heat. McMillan went 3-16 in the playoffs in four seasons, and the Pacers were swept three times.
All three NBA playoff games scheduled for Wednesday were postponed after the teams decided to strike to protest the shooting of Jacob Blake. The Milwaukee Bucks were the first to decide not to play, postponing Game 5 of the first round against the Orlando Magic. The boycotts and postponements come after Jacob Blake, an Black man in Kenosha, Wisconsin was shot in the back seven times by police Sunday. The shooting paralyzed Blake and led to protests in Kenosha and elsewhere.
The Milwaukee Brewers and Cincinnati Reds decided not to play Wednesday night in protest of the police shooting of Jacob Blake Sunday in Kenosha, Wisconsin. In a statement, the Brewers said their players wanted to draw as much attention to the issues that really matter, especially racial injustice and systemic oppression. The teams will play a doubleheader Thursday starting at 5:10 p.m. Eastern. Two more Major League Baseball games were also postponed Wednesday night.
The Chicago Cubs rallied in the ninth inning with three runs, but fell short in a 7-6 loss to the Detroit Tigers Wednesday night at Comerica Park. The Tigers scored five runs in the sixth inning to take a 6-3 lead and added another run in the seventh. The Cubs were without Jason Heyward, who decided not to play following the NBA players’ boycott. Chicago has dropped nine of 14 since starting 13-3.
The Chicago White Sox hit four home runs and went on to defeat the Pittsburgh Pirates 10-3 Wednesday at Guaranteed Rate Field. Chicago swept the series and has won nine of their last 10 games and are within a half game of the lead in the AL Central.
The Cleveland Indians defeated the Minnesota Twins 6-3 Wednesday night at Progressive Field to draw to within a half game of the AL Central lead.
The St. Louis Cardinals scored four runs with two outs in the bottom of the ninth inning to come back and defeat the Kansas City Royals 6-5 at Busch Stadium. Trailing 5-2 with two outs and the bases loaded, Yadier Molina was hit by a pitch to bring in a run. Tyler O’Neill drove a two-run single to left that tied the game, and Kolten Wong walked to bring in the winning run to batters later. The Cardinals took two out of three from their in-state rival and are two games back of the Cubs for second place in the NL Central.
