Police officers in Terre Haute will likely soon be wearing body cameras. The police department’s plan to outfit all officers in the department with body cams got approval from the city’s board of public works Monday night. Police chief Shawn Keen says member of groups such as the local chapter of the N-Double-A-C-P and Change of Terre Haute also had input on the plan. The department has now signed a five-year agreement with a company to provide the body cameras to officers. Keen says there are still several steps that need to be taken before they outfit every officer in Terre Haute.
