Jackie R. Kimmel, 86, of Vincennes, passed away at 12:05 pm Saturday August 22, 2020 at Willow Manor.
He was born March 21, 1934 in Knox County, Indiana to John Henry and Minnie Myrtle (Dick) Kimmel.
Jack retired from the telephone company and the bakery in Indianapolis. Jack was so proud of serving his country in the Navy. A member of the Central Church of Christ, Jack enjoyed woodworking and doing yard work.
Surviving are his wife Gladys (Hedrick) Kimmel whom he married December 2, 1977; his children, Thomas R Kimmel and his wife Lorrie of Lizton, IN, John H. Kimmel and his wife Karen of Roachdale, IN, and Julie Huber of Ladoga, IN; his step-daughter Joni Stigers of Vincennes his sister Junie Meyer of Vincennes; along with 30 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and his brothers and sisters Don Kimmel, Joseph Kimmel, Ella Mae Boyd, Bill Kimmel, Max Kimmel, and Frances Brown.
Visitation will be from 10:00 am until 11:00 am Saturday August 29, 2020 at Goodwin-Sievers Funeral Home, 524 Broadway. Private funeral services and burial will follow with Roger Wright officiating. Memorial contributions may be made to Central Church of Christ. Goodwin-Sievers Funeral Home is honored to serve the family of Jackie Kimmel.
