After months of considering all the options and risks due to Covid-19, the Montgomery Ruritan Club has announced that the 2020 Turkey Trot Festival has been cancelled for this year. Club members stated there are a number of factors in making the tough decision. Uncertainty of the future made the top of the list. Festival chairman DeWayne Shake says it was an over $50 thousand dollar gamble, and by not knowing what may happen in September and the 30-day deadline for letting the artists know about the cancellation their hands were tied. The Club is working to secure the same entertainers for next year. This year would mark the 48th Anniversary of the festival and the Montgomery Ruritan Club is celebrating its 60th anniversary of serving the Daviess County Community.
