Kroger is recalling their brand of onions due to possible salmonella contamination. The recall for the red, yellow, white, and sweet yellow onions came a day after nearly 400 people across the country became sick with salmonella. Two of those people were in Indiana. Thomson International says the onions were distributed to grocery stores across the country and Canada on May 1, under several brand names, including Kroger, Hartley’s Best, Majestic, Imperial Fresh and Food Lion. They were distributed in a variety of ways as well, ranging from 2-pound bags to 50-pound cartons.
