Beginning Wednesday, the City of Evansville will require people to wear face mask in public places.

In an announcement Friday, Evansville Mayor Lloyd Winnecke said the spread of the COVID-19 virus in the Evansville area has been “dramatic”.  Winnecke said that wearing face mask is an easy way to avoid more drastic measures.   Under the directive, Evansville will require the wearing of masks at all in-door public places.  The masks will also be required outdoors if people cannot maintain six foot spacing, including walking with someone.
