Due to an increase in telephone calls to their office, the Health Department reminds everyone that COVID-19 testing can be obtained locally at the DCH Quick Care Clinic, or you can call Optum to check the nearest free available testing site and schedule your appointment at 1-888-634-1116.

The department advises that if you have been in close direct contact (less than six feet for longer than 15 minutes) with a person who has tested positive, you are encouraged to get tested.

A negative test result only means you do not have the virus at the time of the test. With a direct exposure you could be infected but it is not showing up in your system yet. You should always self- isolate for 14 days from the date of exposure.

Self-isolation means: remain at home with your immediate family, only leave for drive-thru necessities; and wear a mask during those trips.
