Although still high compared to its history, Daviess County has the lowest unemployment rate in the state at 5.6% for the month of May. That is 3.3% higher than a year ago. Indiana’s rate is 12.3% while the national rate is 13.3.
Looking at other counties; Dubois County has the 2nd lowest in the state at 5.7; Martin County isn’t far behind at 5.9. Knox county is at 11.3%, Pike at 9.8%. Greene County is at 9%.
