Report says sleep problems not getting much better

It’s already difficult for some Hoosiers to sleep and the coronavirus has only made things more difficult, says the founder of BrainTap Technologies, Dr. Patrick Porter. In the United Health Foundation’s 2019 annual report, they found that 43% of kids under the age of 15 in Indiana were getting “insufficient sleep.” Porter says it has to do a lot with staying on their phones at night. More than a third of Hoosiers between the ages of 45-64 were also experiencing insufficient sleep. Porter says all of the uncertainty in our world is playing a role, because it keeps our brains thinking and working and stressing out. He suggests limiting your caffeine intake before bed, putting away the phone, and keeping your bedroom dark and cold.
