State rep, US Congress and Presidential election returns

        In the Republican State Representative races in the region; for District 45, Incumbent Bruce Borders defeated challenger Jeff Gormong 67 to 33%.  Incumbent Jeff Ellington defeated challenger Gregg Knott in District 62 with nearly 90% of the vote.  In District 75 where Ron Bacon is retiring, his endorsed candidate Michael Griffin it appears is defeated by fellow Republican Cindy Ledbetter. With about 75% of the vote in, Ledbetter is the projected winner with 52% of the vote.
    In the 8th  US Congressional District, Republican Congressman Larry Bucshon was unopposed, three Democrats were each drawing about a third of the vote, with small-business owner Thomasina Marsili with over 80% of the vote in was holding a 1,700-vote lead on former township board member Mike Webster, and 2016 nominee Ron Drake close behind.  Marsili is the projected winner to go up against Bucshon in the fall.
       Other notable primary congressional winners include Republicans Jackie Walorski of District 2, Jim Banks of District 3, and Greg Pence of District 6. Republican Victoria Spartz was the winner of the 15-candidate Republican race to replace state Representative Susan Brooks of District 5, who did not run for re-election. Spartz will face off against Democrat Christina Hale in November.    
         Democrat Joe Biden and Republican President Donald Trump both won their respective presidential primaries in Indiana.
