Election Profile: McCracken VS Arnold for County Commissioner

          Voters are mailing in their ballots or voting absentee in person this week. The primary election, normally held the first Tuesday in May was put off to the first Tuesday in June due to pandemic safety concerns. 

          In Daviess County polls will be open as usual on Tuesday June 2nd.  The most watched local race is arguably the Republican Election for County Commissioner in District 1.  Current Commissioner Tom McCracken is being challenged by former Daviess County Economic Development Director Ron Arnold.    

         McCracken is finishing up his first term on the commissioners, he worked for the county for 30 years and retired from the Highway Department as he was running for office four years ago.   He told WAMW he wants to see some ongoing work get completed…

          McCracken is challenged by Ron Arnold, a former Chamber of Commerce and Economic Development Corporation Director.  Arnold says part of the reason he wants to run for office is to make sure Daviess County makes the most of current and future opportunities for growth..
