The State of Indiana’s local COVID-19 testing site in Vincennes will be changing locations starting next week.
The Knox County Joint Information Center says the testing site will be moving from the National Guard Armory to Vincennes University’s Green Activities Center, with testing set to begin there on Tuesday, May 26.
The Knox County Health Department says that while their department is not responsible with setting up or running this testing site, it does commend Vincennes University for stepping up to help provide an accessible site for this state-provided testing. Health Officer Dr. Alan Stewart thanks the university for their actions. However; he says he is concerned with the state’s post-test procedures He says the state needs to make sure that each patient’s primary care physician is included in this process in order for the patients to receive the appropriate care. So far, it looks like the state testing protocol does not include that step.
The testing site at Greene Activities Center is set to run May 26 through June 29.
