The city of Loogootee has opted to not open their public pool this summer.
Mayor Noel Harty made that announcement Tuesday. He was quoted by the Washington Times Herald saying there are five pages of guidelines to operate a public pool amid the pandemic and there’s not enough manpower to do all the cleaning required. There are also the social distancing guidelines and a probability not many would come this year due to COVID concerns. Harty expects to have the pool open next year.
It was announced earlier this week that Water World of Washington will not open this year.
