A Loogootee woman was killed when her 2000 Dodge Neon collided with a 2020 Freightliner Semi. The Daviess County Sheriff’s Department says at 7:42 am on Wednesday morning, 63-year-old Brenda Fields drove left of center while headed south on 231 south of 558. The neon hit the northbound semi driven by 45-year-old Hector Fajardo of Indianapolis. The neon turned over after impact. Ms. Fields was ejected. She was pronounced dead at the scene. The semi driver was not injured. State law required alcohol and drug tests on the semi driver and those tests were negative.
