Today Elaine Wellman, Daviess County Treasurer, released the following information concerning changes to the mailing of upcoming property tax statements.

The mailing of tax statements has been delayed to April 9th. Due to Governor Holcomb’s Executive Order 20-05 Wellman reminds everyone first installments still remain due on or before May 11, 2020. The order delays the assessment of penalties on the property tax portion for a period of 60 days. All units of government (cities, towns, libraries, schools, etc) rely on the timely payment of property taxes. Any delays will negatively impact their cash flows.
