County Commissioners keep courthouse open entrance is limited

The Daviess County, Indiana Board of Commissioners, in response to the Coronavirus (COVID-19), will be
taking protective measures to ensure that our staff and the public remain healthy and that essential
government services continue. Currently, there are no confirmed cases of COVID-19 in the County and
there are no County residents that have been in contact with a confirmed case.

Commissioner Tom McCracken states, “The Courthouse will remain open until further notice. We ask
that all residents please follow the strong recommendations of the Federal and State agencies to slow
the spread of illness.” The Courthouse entrance is now limited to the east side door only and the
Daviess County Sheriff Deputies are screening visitors. Please limit visits to the Courthouse to necessary

ahead to see if your business can be completed remotely or postponed.

Regular scheduled public meetings will be live streamed at www.daviess.org and on Facebook Live (at
Daviess County, Indiana – public meetings). We encourage anyone that would like to attend to watch
remotely. The Advisory Plan commission meeting scheduled for March 18, 2020 has been delayed for
the time being, and other public meetings may be postponed or cancelled.

Property tax bills will be mailed shortly and are due May 11, 2020. Following the Federal guidelines, we
will remain diligent during this eight week timeframe and encourage alternate payment methods (you
can pay at www.daviess.org see “Pay Property Taxes Online” or mail-in your payment).
According to the Daviess County Health Department (DCHD), we reiterate that currently there are no
confirmed cases of COVID-19 and there are no residents that have been in contact with a confirmed
case.

The DCHD is the official local agency that will be providing daily updates to the public by way of
their Facebook page and at www.daviess.org. The DCHD is monitoring the evolving situation and
working with all local partners. If you feel sick, stay home. Contact your medical provider.
