A Daviess County man has been charged in Knox County with Sexual Battery, Official Misconduct, both felonies and with Trafficking with an Inmate, a misdemeanor charge.
At the request of the Knox County Prosecutor, State Police started an investigation into Malyk Jawaun Johnson, 23 of Montgomery who was employed at the Knox County Jail as a Correctional Officer. He was assigned to pick up a 37-year-old female inmate at the Henderson County, KY Jail on February 17th and take her to Vincennes for a local criminal charge.
While traveling back, Johnson is alleged ot have stopped a Princeton, IN gas station and bought tobacco for the inmate and after entering Knox County he pulled into Stokley Road off of 41 and allegedly sexually assaulted the woman. The inmate reported the incident to the Knox County Prosecutor.
Johnson was arrested Wednesday and was being held in the Pike County Jail on bond.
